"Alley" Ink
"Alley" ink
-A big pot full of leaves and other organic matter swept up in the alley outside my studio
-4 quarts water
-8 TB vinegar
-2 TB salt
Simmer to concentrate and darken the liquid
(*Basic recipe adapted from Jason Logan's "Make Ink")
2020
After multiple hours of simmering, the liquid is reduced at least by half
2020
Leaves and other debris are strained out and the liquid is simmered further to concentrate it.
2020
The ink is strained through a coffee filter to remove smaller organic matter.
