Black Walnut Ink
Black walnut husks are covered in water and simmered for a few hours
2019
The husks are strained out and the liquid is brought back to a simmer for a while longer.
2019
A small batch of the liquid is removed for testing. A small amount of isopropyl alcohol is added as a preservative (this also dilutes the intensity slightly).
2019
The walnut ink can be simmered to reduce further if a darker ink is desired.
